West Creekside Residence

The original home was a spec house built in the mid-1990s that was set in a neighborhood of single-story 1950s houses. The project updated and reconfigured the interior of the house to suit the owners’ lifestyle. The kitchen was redesigned with simpler, cleaner lines; the powder room was relocated; and a mudroom was created by converting the three-car garage to a two-car space. The living room’s token fireplace made the room hard to furnish, so it was removed. The kitchen, an important space in the life of the family, is bright and open, its new proportions and clearly-defined shape mimicking those found in the rest of the renovated house. A curved ceiling demarcates this room relative to the living area, creating definition without separation.
